Dear Xanga,

it is time we must part. Tumblr seems to be a better platform for blogging because it is much faster and there aren't any stupid Google ads - I must figure out how to get rid of - sitting on my blog. Also, the entry page for Tumblr actually loads, unlike for Xanga. It is very, very, very frustrating.

Thank you for being my blogging platform for nearly three years, since September 23rd 2006. Back when I was young and foolish and spiteful, and all that ever mattered was what the latest gossip was and maligning other classmates. Horrible times we prefer not to look back on. Thanks for being an outlet for me to rant and rave and for seeing me through sleepless mornings following the most horrible and heart-wrenching things that have happened in my life..

Now I must get back to my Tumblr, a more efficient blog site.

R.I.P. www.xanga.com/cryoncue , I will miss you dearly.

Rachel

Memory is a fickle siren song.

orange peel

This morning I woke up and remembered that an old man spent the last night in my bed, while I spent it on a mattress on a cold floor. Then I put on my lucky dark blue cloth boots and clomped around the house. I realised how gratifying that is; irritating my neighbours downstairs with my loud stomping all over the house!

Then, I had Chinese tuition (how typical of Asian school-going kids to spend their weekends) and revised what to say for my Chinese oral examination. Then I went online to chat a bit, explored various corners of the Internet (somebody should really make a map of the Internet!!) and read artsy fartsy blogs and tumblrs with an open mind. I love the simplicity of tumblrs, I'm considering getting one, but perhaps just admiring them will do for now... Also, I love the idea of creating little fantasy galaxies by sprinkling packets of sugar randomly over an open-covered photo copy machine... Brilliant idea. If I ever, ever work at an office (AND I HOPE I NEVER DO!), I would seriously spend all my lunch breaks doing that! Hmm, another thing I did.. I read two short stories, Georgy Porgy and Pig, by Roald Dahl. It was all right, nothing too peculiar happened in the stories. Well, I didn't find a 17-year-old boy getting hung onto a slaughtering-line-thing, getting his gullet slit and blood spilling out of it while cruel workers looked on with smirks on their faces, that strange (:

Then at about three, I had my lunch, then went online to chat with Thomson until he had to go out for dinner. After, I went with my loud ankle boots to the kitchen and studied till 8. Then I had a good, hearty dinner of roast chicken and roast potatoes - of the normal and sweet variety - , it wasn't strange-tasting like I thought, in fact it was good. Then I studied till it was about 10, and came online. Quite a mundane day, today was.

you and i gonna be okay

The universe is the mirror in which we can contemplate
only what we have learned to know in ourselves.

Today we had our sports day, which is what the school does on the last day of every term. Before we could begin participating in the sports fixture, we had to sit through chapel, oh, horrible chapel. I can't stand chapel, why must we have it every Friday? Not only do we have to endure the grotesque, out-of-tune voices that are incapable of singing the Jesus songs, we have to listen to boring presentations about Jesus or the Scripture... It's so boring and apart from feeling bad for the pastor who cannot seem to capture the attention of the students, it really makes me want to sleep! I think I have been hearing about Jesus and the Bible for close to eight years and it is very sickening. Also, it hasn't converted me into a Christian.

Do you have to constantly remind yourself and the others around you about someone who has died? You don't even know this person, all you hear about him are from third-person accounts! How can people claim to have a relationship with Jesus? Just by praying? Begging for forgiveness for your sins? What's the point of feeling guilty for committing sins if you are going to be forgiven by your god anyway? Will doing all this make you a holy person? Will it bring you to heaven in your afterlife? Aren't you wasting your life if all you are concentrating on is on finding God and the end of life so you can go to heaven? Sigh, having chapel every Friday really is unnecessary, in my opinion. Even the most religious of my friends, they don't even pay attention. They send text messages to their friends, they yap and yap away to one another. The school shouldn't make it compulsory. How do people of other religions feel? Having an office dedicated to God-related things, having a "Religious Studies" class that mainly focuses on the school's ideal religion that is compulsory for you to attend for two whole years, isn't that enough? Why is there a need to have chapel? The hours wasted on having chapel could be put to better use, really. Like on studies, for example.

Maybe I am just very ignorant, but I'm not an atheist, mind you. I have no issues with God, really. No one can prove whether he exists or not. I simply despise the idea of religion!! Without religion, there would be no wars; nobody would be martyrs. Is religion truly necessary?

Ah, well, let's move on now. So, most of my friends and I did not take part in the sports fixtures. We just sat in the school hall (there was air conditioning, what can you say!) and entertained ourselves, cheered for other houses and ate ice cream. We sat around observing several games of handball, talked, messed with the octopus I gave to my friend as a present (it has a name now; Squirmy!) and took photos of one another.

Afterwards, we headed over to one of my friend's house and had cheese-filled pasta and played Halo which caused me to feel giddy and faint. Surprisingly, I got beaten by Sarah, whom I usually beat, and I beat Swati for the first time, and she is the supposed 'pro' (: It was real fun, I managed to beat 3 out of 4 of my friends. (:

Now that the school term is over, we have our one week break and I have to finish my piles of homework waiting for me to do them (haha how I wish they were asexual), I have to revise, revise, revise, meet up with friends to make plans for our projects and prepare for my Chinese oral exam. I really hope I have time to get everything done!

Inflate To Deflate

I shall blog about the Red Jumpsuit Apparatus concert soon. It was mind-boggling fun.

Lately,

lately yes

Life is screwing me upside down inside out and making me go positively mad. Sigh.

Do you know I miss you so terribly.

I haven't written a post in my blog for centuries. ...You see, I have been swallowed whole by my persistent pile of homework named Bill. It was just this morning at 6 am that I was expelled out, covered in eraser dust, pencil shavings and all.

Anyway, here are just some pictures of what I have been up to.

Had lunch one friday with Thomson, Jessie, Swati and Leona at Cha Cha Cha. We had nachos and margaritas that turned Thomson and my face redddd. Donated Swati's prize, a pack of peach tea to an old lady who makes syrup things outside Crystal Jade. Then, Thomson and I went over to his house. Said hi to his mom and his mom's little fishys. Then we just cuddled in bed till I had to go tutor little kids. We took forever to find a cab so we had to cross two roadsss. Sigh, I miss the nice hug we shared by the roadside.

When I went there, the little girl whom I tutored was like, "I want you!" and decided she wanted me to tutor her instead of Sarah and Swati doing so. This little girl was really cute, trying to jiggle my arm to see my fats wobble.. Then she wobbled her own fats and said I was skinny compared to her. Then she made Swati do that same and pronounced her fat. I miss herrr!

Then, during the weekend I went down to Taka and bought this really nice Chloe perfume which lasts long on any inanimate object but seems to disintegrate really quickly when I use it on myself ):

DSC04123

Then my friends and I celebrated Toesock Wednesday! Mine's the black and purple one...

DSC04126

Drew on poor Sarah's hand because she forgot her toesocks and needed A MARK OF SHAME!

DSC04131

Messed with the Totoro keychain I bought for Jessiekins (:

DSC04152

I bought my friend a drunken octopussy from Ikea for her birthdayyy (: Trust me, it suits her personality. And besides that, octopussies are cute X)

Lastly, I went for like a manicureeee! Like totally! And I like feel like terribly bimbotic now.
